Welfare Reform Bill - Universal Credit
The welfare reform bill that incorporates the new Universal Credit got it’s second reading in the House of Lords on 13th September 2011. Once complete it then moves to the committee and report stages before the third reading and amendments to the bill. The new system will start in 2013.
The UK government says that this will make things simpler for people and will encourage people to work. Many people are worried about these changes. We have attached the full document and an easy read version so that you can look at these and find out more about the Universal Credit.
